His Heart for Haiti

Giving Hope Through Child Sponsorship

Sponsor a Child and Change a Life…Maybe Yours!

A typical Haitian classroom out in the country.

There are many Haitian families who would love to send their children to school, but they are forced to choose between having food and clothing or getting an education. They might be forced to choose between paying rent or getting an education. Life in Haiti is touch and go; some kids start school at age 12, some are still in high school in their mid-twenties.

You can make a difference! For only $35 a month you can give a child a brighter hope for the future. A future that includes basics like reading and writing, but it may also include computer skills, English, music education and beyond!

These boys were so excited to visit their sponsor for the first time!

You can choose a child from those available on harvestcall.org! Currently, HarvestCall Child Sponsorship has children available to sponsor in four countries: Haiti, Mexico, Guatemala and Jamaica. Children can begin with a sponsor as soon as age four, but there are also children available at the high school and trade school level if you are interested. Monthly prices increase slightly at the higher class levels. For more information: http://www.harvestcall.org/sponsor-a-child

Children in Haiti usually start school at age four, but other ages are available to sponsor!

Small gifts are always appreciated by a sponsored child!

Up close and personal: Ralph Kenny François is the youngest son of the driver employed by our Haiti Child Sponsorship office. He loves it when we send snacks home with his dad! He is ten years old and loves to go to school. He is waiting for a sponsor so he can continue his education. You will find Ralph’s photo and personal profile here: http://www.harvestcall.org/haiti-child-sponsorship

Sponsorship can create a bond for life! You will receive a personal letter three times a year and you can send pictures and small gifts and write to your student as often as you would like, as well. (Many sponsors have also been able to visit their child in Haiti and personally encourage them!) Imagine the gratitude they feel while attending school that “my sponsor cares about me.” Some children have never heard the words “I love you,” until they hear it from their sponsor. They will truly love you in return and pray for you!

Up close and personal: one of the ladies that helps in our house cannot read. This is a cross in her life and she works very hard to make sure that all her children go to school. When we read our Bibles around the table or sing from books or sheet music, she just sits there and listens or joins in the singing from memory. We are trying to help her learn the basics with language lessons. At least 50% of the Haitian people cannot read or write!

You can make a huge impact in the life of a child through sponsorship!

Every child is precious!

This classroom of little people was a little in awe of the photographer!

“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his heart of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him?” 1 John 3:17

Haitian children are thankful for their food! HarvestCall currently feeds five schools!

Teachers for our Christian School Needed Next Fall!

Grace’s 5th & 6th grade class with History teacher Mrs. Kaeb!

Grace loves school, and one of the main reasons is her teachers! She has had great Christian mentors and role models the last three years. With only two full-time teachers this year, Susie and four other missionaries have been helping the principal teach the remaining classes. There is really a need for teachers this coming Fall.

This small school has a great library!

Announcement:

Cité Lumière Christian School in southern Haiti is recruiting missionary teachers for the 2017-18 school year. Specific needs include an elementary teacher and middle/high school teachers able to teach one or more subjects to multiple grade levels.

CLCS is a multi-cultural, inter-agency Christian school using American curriculum, located on a mission center near Haiti’s third largest city. Our student body is made up of missionary children from the U.S. and Germany, children of Haitian pastors, and others as space allows.

CLCS exists to help parents in the Les Cayes area of Haiti fulfill their God-given responsibility of educating their children. Our goal is to present our students with an American-based Christian education that will prepare them for higher education or to re-integrate back into their home cultures. Our desire is to teach a Christ-centered, Biblical worldview to the children who attend CLCS.

Teachers raise their own financial support to cover their living and travel expenses. We look for teachers who are certified either through their home countries or the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). If you have further questions and are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact us using one of the methods below.
